Cupping

Title: Cupping

Cupping is a method used in Chinese Medicine to treat a number of conditions. These include releasing muscle tensions and promoting blood circulation.

Cupping involves creating a vacuum in a glass ‘cup’ which is then applied to the body, usually the back. The skin and underlying tissue are sucked into the cup, drawing blood to the area. One of the physical effects is thus relaxing the muscle.

Do note that with cupping, marks that look like bruises may be made and they can take up to two weeks to resolve. However, these are not bruises. No injury is caused by proper application of cupping.
